Alfred Coffee shops are popping up in different areas in Los Angeles. Each place has their unique theme and very trendy. It is totally Instagram worthy! I've been to the Melrose and Beverly Hills location. This is my third location in Studio City that I have been to. I like this store cause it has a tropical paradise theme going on. My hubby and I get ice cream in the area all the time. I ordered a iced latte with almond milk. It's pretty good and strong! I probably should work for this Coffee company since I go to them frequently. Can't wait to check out another location.
After driving around looking for house rentals, we started to feel hungry. My hubby likes to go to this sushi spot in Woodland hills. But when we got there they were closed for special reason. I went on yelp and found Okumura which has great reviews. We decided to check it out in Encino area. The restaurant is nice and modern. They have plenty of tables and the chef station where they make sushi. To start we got some iced green teas. I ordered the Agedashi tofu and the chicken teriyaki lunch combo. My hubby ordered a tuna handroll, rainbow roll and a crispy albacore onion roll.
The server brought out a miso soup and salad for my combo first. They were good and refreshing! The sushi chef handed us a tuna handroll. The tuna is so bright and fresh, I did not need to edit the picture. It was definitely fresh fish and tasted good. The Agedashi tofu is lightly fried and comes with a shishito pepper in a Japanese negi broth. The tofu was fried perfectly and the sauce brings out the flavor. It was a great tofu appetizer! The rainbow roll and crispy albacore roll came out. The rainbow roll was delicious! It is the best roll we've ever had. The fish tasted like butter and so fresh. I liked the crispy albacore roll with the onions on top. It's so good and crunchy! My chicken teriyaki finally came out cause it takes 20 minutes to make. It's the best chicken teriyaki bowl like ever! The veggies are grilled and healthy. The chicken was cooked perfectly and lightly drizzled with teriyaki sauce. I can just have this bowl and be satisfied. This is an awesome sushi restaurant and we look forward to coming back for more.

After I was done with lunch, I walked around old town Pasadena. I came across Cafe 86 in one of the smaller streets. This cafe is cool with art and hip decor. They specialize in all things Ube. Ube is a purple yam that is popular for dessert at Filipino restaurants. My old co-worker would get me Halo halo all the time for my snack. I ordered their Ube cheesecake. If you check in on Yelp, you get a free hibiscus cooler. The drink is fruity and very refreshing. The Ube cheesecake is rich and creamy. It had enough amount of sweetness to it and the cookie crust was delicious. I will definitely come back to try out more Ube items.
It has been a while since I've had some hotpot. Today, I decided to go to boiling point in Pasadena location. The Angus Beef hotpot is my favorite, it has all kinds of toppings. I usually order it medium spicy. It comes with rice or noodle. The hotpot is good on a cold day. There is four different dipping sauces on the side that you can use. I like the Garlic soy sauce flavor. The soup was spicy but good. It fills you up and is comfort food. It's a must try if your in the area.

It's Easter, the bunny is out to play! My hubby and I brought my father-in-law out for lunch. We took him to our favorite place Nong La for some good Pho. Afterwards, we stopped by Larchmont Village to check out the farmers market. My father-in-law never had Jeni's before so I had to show him the place. Jeni's has gourmet ice cream flavors and their menu changes according to the season. They make delicious and creamy ice cream. You get a waffle cookie with your scoop. It is nice to spend quality time with family. Hope everyone had a good Easter!

It makes the taco taste even better. I recommend hitting up this spot if your down for some cheap delicious tacos!
My hubby and I went to Rinjani for dinner. It is a new Indonesian restaurant that features authentic rice and noodle dishes. The atmosphere is casual and modern. It was our first time so we asked the waitress what is a good dish to order. We ordered the Rijsttafel "A bit of everything" which is $24.95 per person. It is rice served with samples of different dishes that are popular. The chicken curry is delicious! It reminds me of what my grandma makes at home but more of vietnamese style. I like having small bites of the Tempeh, tofu, potato, short rib, egg and shrimp chips. The preset menu is great if you want to try a bunch of different plates. I liked the food and will come back for more.

The salad is delicious and so refreshing with a lemon taste. The shaved Parmigiano Reggiano cheese completes the plate. I can eat this probably everyday! Next I had the Calamri Fritti. You can't go wrong with this plate, it has fried squid with veggies. The batter is light and cripsy, goes well with the tomato sauce. Amici offers a great selection of drinks and food for happy hour. I need to reward myself more often!

Guess they didn't want to lease it no more. It's a cool rustic looking coffee place. They did a good job in the interior design and layout. What's different about La Colombe, they have coffee on tap. It's like being at a brewery except it's coffee instead. My hubby ordered the Pure black & tan, I ordered an iced latte. The Pure black & tan is strong coffee with foam. It's pretty good!
